Week 2

Yesterday's lesson in Study Skills was very interesting and useful. The difference between reflective writing and essay writing was explained in a detailed manner in order to have a better picture of what to expect from the projects during the remaining years of the university.
We focused more on the reflective writing because this is how the structure will be in all the projects and less in essay writing which was commonly used in high school studies.
I think that there'll be more things in the upcoming weeks concerning this lesson and its application to the upcoming projects and modules and hopefully more interesting things to come.

Gute Nacht!

Week 1

It was the beginning of the modules. In the Study Skills module we will focus more on the writing process of a project and in general. I enjoyed the life cycles of learning (Kolb’s learning cycle and Ramsden’s “deep approach” to learning). It also seemed to me something like philosophy in the learning cycle examples which is interesting.

In the Introduction for Programming was an introduction about the programming language “Java” with the use of the Blue J program. I enjoy learning programming languages but the first lesson wasn’t that much practical (in the way I wanted it to be) and I wanted to learn something different from that particular program. But ok there is plenty of time ahead to see various aspects of it and reconsider my current thoughts.

In the Problem Solving for IT: it was an introduction and explanation of a possible problem and also the different types of obstacles that may prevent someone from solving a problem. This module seems interesting and I’d like to learn more about it.
